How Maagal works

A short walkthrough of the two-sided network, what you can do at each tier, and how the product fits together. Built for members, prospects, and partners.

What Maagal is

Maagal is a private, invite-minded network built around verified membership. People join with Sign in with Apple, build a profile, and optionally share a self-reported net worth to appear on a members-only leaderboard. The social layer, The Lounge, opens once someone completes a one-time in-app verification purchase so the community stays bounded.

Why “two-sided”?

Not a marketplace in the Uber sense. Here it means two roles inside one app: spectators (signed in, browsing, limited access) and verified members (full access, member number, lounge, ranking as a verified peer). Same app, different gates.

Maagal is intentionally small and selective. The product story is: signal over noise, identity you pay to affirm, and spaces that stay member-only.

Spectators vs verified members

After you sign in, the app reads your profile from the backend. Your status depends on one flag: verified or not.

Spectator

Signed in, not yet verified via purchase. You see grey accents, “Spectator” status, can explore the Members list (verified peers only on the board), edit net worth for your profile, and upgrade when ready. The Lounge stays locked.

Verified member

Completed verification (IAP + server check). You get a member number, gold styling, leaderboard presence (with net worth if set), rank among verified members, access to The Lounge (chat), and shareable member assets where enabled.

Quick comparison

  • NicknamedisplayName (e.g. from Apple); same field for both roles.
  • Net worth — self-reported; optional; drives sort order among verified users on the board.
  • Rank — computed among verified users by net worth (not stored as a single “rank” field).
  • Status label — “Spectator” vs “Member #NNN” in the app.

Step-by-step: the flow

Typical path from cold start to full member. Use the arrows below to move through the guide.

Download & open Install Maagal from the App Store (or TestFlight). Launch the app.

The Lounge Chat opens for verified members. Connection uses a short-lived token from our backend to a chat provider.
Share & rank Verified members can see leaderboard rank (by net worth) and share member visuals where the app allows.

Data & trust (plain language)

  • Identity — Apple sign-in; we store account and profile fields you see in the app.
  • Payments — Apple processes the card; we receive what we need to confirm you bought verification.
  • Leaderboard — Built from verified profiles; net worth is self-reported, not audited by Maagal in the app.
  • Chat — Handled by a specialist chat infrastructure provider under our configuration.
